City of McAllen Independence Day Celebration Presented by H-E-B

Join us for The City of McAllen’s 90th Annual Patriotic Program & Parade followed by our Freedom Festival at Archer Park!

PATRIOTIC PROGRAM & PARADE- 8:00AM
The veterans in our community will be recognized during a patriotic program that will kick off the days festivities. The parade that follows will feature floats of all shapes and sizes created by the many organizations and businesses that contribute to the success of our community. 

FREEDOM FESTIVAL-10:00AM – 2:00PM
After the parade join us at Archer Park for good food, great music, arts & crafts & games for the whole family to enjoy!

Beach Parade and Fireworks (South Padre Island)

The City of South Padre Island Parks and Recreation will host its annual Fourth of July Beach Parade for the community and visitors. Friends of Animals will start the parade. At the end, watermelon, bottled water, and other goodies will be given out while supplies last.

The parade will begin at beach access #20 at East Georgia Ruth Drive and end at access #17 at East Mars Lane. Line up begins at 9:30 a.m. with the parade starting at 10 a.m.

A special Fireworks Over the Bay for Fourth of July will take place at Louie’s Backyard at 9:15 p.m.

Independence Day Fun Run, Parade, and Celebration (Laguna Vista)

Independence Day Fun Run 
The Independence Day Fun Run will start at 7am at Roloff Park. There will be no packet pick up, no timers, just simply bringing people together to participate in this Fun Run as a celebration of Independence Day. 
a. The entry fee is $10. This entry fee will cover the cost of the finishers medal and the water and Gatorade that will be provided during the event. 
b. We are encouraging participants to dress up in patriotic colors. 
c. The first 200 finishers will be provided a finishers medal. 
d. Registration forms for this Independence Day Fun Run can be obtained at the Town office, located at 122 Fernandez, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm. 
e. Prizes will be given to the top three best dressed participants. 
f. You can register the morning of the fun run. Please be here on or before 6:30pm to register on site.

Independence Day Parade 
The Independence Day Parade will start at 5:30pm at the Fire Station, located on FM 510. We are encouraging the public to participate in this Parade. Decorate your golf carts, vehicles, boat/trailers, bikes, etc. with red, white and blue. Dress up also in these patriotic colors. Please be at the Fire Station no later than 5pm.

Celebration – Music 
Following this Parade, the Town will be having a celebration at Roloff Park from 6 to 10pm. 
a. We will be having children’s activities and food.
b. Blankets & lawn chairs are welcome
c. The Bongo Dogs will be performing
