I’ve always wanted my little one to participate in activities. Until recently, child yoga wasn’t even on my mom radar. We enrolled sweet Luis in soccer, which sadly didn’t work out because well, as it turns out, he prefers to play with dirt! There was the brief stint in a toddler gymnastics class that cost […]

I’m a runner. Most people who knew me pre-kids would concur. A few half marathons and miscellaneous races followed by three kids in three years has me now back at square one – itching to run again. So this year I have decided to run ONE MILE A DAY. Yup. Sounds easy and hard all […]
I am not a victim of spousal abuse. I do not easily anger or get in fist fights. However, I was recently punched in the face by a piece of workout equipment. Hard. Let me clarify. My lip was busted by a slingshotting elastic band with a mechanism fixed to its end. When it happened, […]
Raise your hand if you have a gym membership but haven’t used it since March! ME!!! I remember I saw a video on Youtube of a dad who said they wasted over $1,000 on a gym membership that they used a hand full of times. I thought to myself, that won’t be me! Boy, was […]

Join us on a memorial mile virtual run (or walk) in honor of Leonard Nimoy, who passed away on February 27, 2015. Nimoy played Mr. Spock on the cult sci-fi series Star Trek. He was known around the world and in his final Tweet before he died he said, “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.”
Nimoy passed away from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). When he announced that he was suffering from COPD he wrote, “I quit smoking 30 years ago. Not soon enough. Grandpa says, quit now!!” We will be donating $5 of every registration to the COPD Foundation, who’s mission is to prevent and cure Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and to improve the lives of all people affected by COPD. We look forward to making the donation in memory of Leonard Nimoy.
What: This is a memorial mile virtual run/walk. You can choose to run one, two or three miles in honor of Mr. Nimoy (aka Mr. Spock), who is well known for the phrase Live Long and Prosper.
When: Complete your race any time between now and May 31, 2015.
*Medals will be shipped out in May 2015.
Where: You choose the course and you time yourself (you’ll report your finishing time to us).
Live Long Medal Only
Why: Because we want to honor an incredible man and the impact he had on so many people. Plus, how better can we LIVE LONG AND PROSPER than to get out and run a mile or two?
Price: The prices are listed below and include the cost of the medal, shipping and handling, and $5 of every registration will be donated to the COPD Foundation.
Three years ago I gave birth to my third child and found myself as a stay at home mom for the first time. I knew that I wanted to start running as soon as possible to help lose the baby weight but I also wanted to achieve something. I wanted to feel successful in something […]
