IMAS to Celebrate 2017 World Water Day
McAllen, TX- In keeping with the United Nations’ Global Initiative to raise awareness about the preservation and sustainable management of freshwater resources, the International Museum of Art and Science (IMAS) and McAllen Public Utility Board is pleased to invite the public and media to attend the 2017 World Water Day celebrating on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Since 1993, World Water Day, a global event held annually has been celebrated as a rallying cry for people to understand, value, and protect Earth’s vital water resources. IMAS’s celebration will explore the importance of water and water conservation in our community! Stop by the community tables to explore the wonderful resources available throughout the RGV. Join us for special animal talks and S.O.S shows, make a cloud in a bottle, enjoy a magic show by North Alamo Supply, and stop by the McAllen Fire Department table, plus much more!
It’s IMAS’ desire to have this water day extend into a ‘water way’ of life. It all begin by taking this one day to think deeply about water and how it effects our lives – to learn something new and to share that knowledge with someone else.
