Run 365 with Me

2

I’m a runner. Most people who knew me pre-kids would concur.

A few half marathons and miscellaneous races followed by three kids in three years has me now back at square one – itching to run again.

So this year I have decided to run ONE MILE A DAY.

Yup. Sounds easy and hard all at the same time. One mile is easy to digest. It’s also easy to get ahead or catch up on mileage. I can spare 7 minutes a day, right? (Just kidding… it’s more like 10 or 11 minutes!)

The thing is, I’m going to do it.

It’s not too hard to catch up if I fall behind, which I already have. It’s day 11 as I’m 2.5 miles behind, but I know that doubling up or tripling up along the way will get easier and I WILL run at least 365 miles in 2017.

Do it with me!

FACEBOOK GROUP

I’m starting up (yet another, I know) Facebook group to get motivated and motivate others. It’s called… wait for it… 365 in 2017! Join us. Bring your own fitness goals and share them with us. Let’s swap healthy recipes. Walk the 365 if you have to. Just do it.

TRACKING CHART

I use a running app to track miles while I run (scroll down for links). But writing it down makes it feel more real and attainable, somehow.

If running is not your thing, print this out anyway and track something else this year. 365 burpees. 365 glasses of wine. (Kidding!) 365 hugs. The sky is the limit.

or click on the JPEGs below to print.

I’ve printed this on one sheet, front and back, so I can keep it handy and stay on track. Under + I’ll write that day’s mile(s), and then the last column is a RUNning total. This makes it easy to compare back with the day of the year, which should match the total.

CURRENT FAVORITE RUNNING APPS AND TOOLS

Nike+ Run Club – I use this app during my runs. It integrates with Spotify, which is also fantastic. Most times I also run while listening to a podcast on Stitcher or a book on Audible.

Fit Bit Charge HR – This watch has been accompanying me for about a year and I love it. It also tracks my miles along with heart rate, calories burned, and steps. Oh, and it tracks elevation, but we live in south Texas so it’s usually zero.

Happy 365! It’s almost time to hit the pavement.
