Celeste BTell us a little bit about you:

I am originally from Northern California. I have 3 kids: Hope (16), Noah (14), and Joel (12). There’s never a dull moment around this place! My husband and I do camps and events year-round. We live on a ranch with animals— lots of animals to be exact: 2 peacock, Koi fish, 3 goats, 2 horses, 1 miniature horse, 2 turkeys, 4 piggies, 8 bunnies, 1 cat, and my first and favorite (don’t tell the other animals)… my fat little Pug named Latte. My family and my faith are most important to me. I also write and speak, mainly to women. I’m working on a new book now! And when I’m not doing anything related to family or words or animals or kids, you might find me reading a good book. I am also blessed with great friends. We try to get together every so often for good food, hot coffee, and great conversation.

Finish this sentence: “You’d never guess that I…”

… do not like to talk on the phone (because I’m such an introvert). #textme 🙂

Describe your ideal day.

At the beach or Colorado (I used to live there and miss it!) and on vacation without any responsibilities! The first half of the day would be spent with my family, doing fun activities or swimming and just playing together. Then they would all go do something and I’d have the other half of the day alone. I’d go check out the shops and fun thrift stores. And I’d have my books and my journal with me. I’d sit by the pool/ beach/ mountains and read and write. Then at the end of the day I would meet my friends out for great Mexican food and possibly a movie!

Name three must-haves and why.

1) Coffee… because, hello… 😉

2) My Bible because I get so much peace from reading it.

3) My iPhone because practically my whole brain has been entered in on my notes! And I might have a small issue with taking way too many pictures on my phone!

What do you miss most about life before kids?

This is a hard one because my kids are older. They can get their own food, I get to pee alone, my husband and I can go out on dates and leave them alone, and they’re pretty independent. Maybe just going away for a night or two alone— there’s a lot of planning to do, especially when school starts.

CelesteBarnardfamily2In three words, what kind of mom are you?

Loving, Crazy (I sometimes embarrass my teens a little), and Encouraging.

Anything else fun we should know?

I’m an introverted extrovert. I absolutely LOVE people and get filled up when I’m around them. But, at some point I have to have some alone time to get refueled. I have a really bad sweet tooth and I can’t handle anything spicy (It makes me sweat and makes my nose run..lol). And love to travel and see new things!
