Rum Romanoff Recipe | Strawberries and Cream

Yummy! Yummy!
Yummy! Yummy!

A lot of people don’t know this about me, but I used to own a small cafe … Nieta Americana. It is Spanish for “American Granddaughter”, because that is exactly what I am … a Nieta Americana! And very proud of it! But back to the cafe; so we served soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts – you know, the typical cafe-like eats and treats; plus a little more.

But one dessert that we served, one very SPECIAL dessert, was our delectable Strawberries and Cream Rum Romanoff! Doesn’t that just sound amaze-balls?! With good reason; because it IS amaze-balls!! Anyone and everyone who had a taste of it absolutely LOVED it! … and EVERYBODY wanted to know the recipe. EVERYONE!

But this recipe, you see, was a family recipe. A SECRET recipe, passed down for many wonderful secret-kept generations – good thing I married in to this wonderful recipe! I mean, family. This wonderful family! πŸ˜‰

This recipe (like the last name) was one of the other perks of marrying my hubby! Ok! Ok! So my husband invented it but I always wanted to say we had a secret family recipe that our dog Busch had to guard… we also do not have a dog…

But seriously, back to the point,….

No one could have it; except … well, family! And I think just the fact that it was our new SECRET FAMILY RECIPE gave it all the more tasty deliciousness!

But today, and only today … I share with you, my very very mysteriously delicious Strawberries and Cream Rum Romanoff recipe … with permission from the hubby, of course! – Because he loves me like that!

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

Ingredients for Strawberries and Cream Rum Romanoff
Ingredients for Strawberries and Cream Rum Romanoff

STRAWBERRIES
16 OZ CREAM CHEESE
2 TABLESPOONS VANILLA
1 CUP SUGAR
1-TABLESPOON RUM (optional and you can leave out if desired – non alcoholic if you burn the alcohol)
10 OZ WHIPPED CREAM

Mix the cream cheese and sugar until the sugar is well dissolved. I usually burn the alcohol off of the rum (yes, I put it in a shot glass and light it with a match for a few seconds). Then mix all in all the other ingredients and stir. That is it! It is delicious and I hope you agree! If not, take a real shot and try it again πŸ˜‰
