Real Boys Wear Pink

My First grader has a spunky personality. If you didn’t know him, you might not know that. It’s always a battle to get him to cooperate and wear school spirit shirts and pajamas on pajama days at school. Something happened this year at his new school and now he’s very interested in being involved (although pajama day was a lie! He set them out and in the morning decided he just couldn’t do it – but I digress.)

He came home from school yesterday and told me he had to wear pink for breast cancer on Wednesday. Then he told me I needed to go buy him a pink shirt.  A pink boy’s shirt. At 8:00 pm.

Sure thing kid, let me just whip one out of my, ….

I found a pink shirt. Just in case you were wondering, they don’t carry pink boy’s shirts at Bealls, Target, Old Navy or Khol’s. You will, however, find them at WalMart – where he told me to go in the first place.

I was scared to send my {overly sensitive} son off to school in a pink shirt no other boy knew to wear. I tried to prep him and convince him to wear a navy polo underneath – in case he got too sweaty at recess and decided he wanted to change. Lame attempt. I know.

“Nope.” He said. He was confident in the cause.

I should learn a thing or two from him. I need to get my peetzies (feet) and hands all pink-ed out now.

How are you helping support and raise awareness for Pink and what it stand for?
