Crystal Stewart is a Certified Nurse Midwife who entered the profession with diverse experience in maternal child health, from clinician to administrator.
She began this journey as a high school Junior during a semester abroad as an intern in the Labor and Delivery ward of Juan Pablo Pina Hospital in the city of San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic. It was here she found a calling and passion to serve women through pregnancy, birth and beyond.
Crystal has lived in the Rio Grande Valley since 2001, and has been involved with maternal-child health since 2008. She has served on the local chapter of the March of Dimes Program Services Committee.
Crystal holds a BA in Biology from Skidmore College along with an undergraduate Nursing degree and a Masters in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. She learned Spanish as a child, where she traveled for missions work to Mexico and Chile in the 1980s. She has been blessed with three daughters, two sons and a supportive family.
Her passion is caring for women holistically through pregnancy and childbirth. She has extensive experience in lactation care. She feels blessed to bring Nurse-Midwifery care to women in the RGV through her position with New Life OBGYN Associates.
