The fun starts now and carries us through the new year!

 


Celebration of Kindness Parade – McAllen
Friday, November 25
3PM – 6PM

Check out the 1st annual Kindness Parade. Join the fun and festivities with a parade down Tamarack Ave in front of McAllen Municipal Park (between Bicentennial and 23rd). As the season of giving will be kicking off in full swing, let’s come together as a community to celebrate and demonstrate kindness.


Light Up the Holidays – McAllen Tree Lighting
Monday, Nov. 28

6:30PM – 7:30PM

Join McAllen’s City Leaders for the 3rd annual lighting of the spectacular 64’ Christmas tree to be on display at the McAllen Convention Center’s Oval Park. The ceremony will take place Monday, November 28th at 6:30 PM. Musical entertainment will be provided highlighting the event with Christmas cheer.

The grand tree will be on display for the public to enjoy in the McAllen Convention Center’s Oval Park throughout the month of December. Already a popular location to visit at Palms Crossings, the added attraction of the tree to the Convention Center District will make those visits even more magical.


Christmas Tree Lighting on Britton – Rio Grande City
Wednesday, November 30th
6:00 PM

Join the community of Rio Grande City for the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting at the Kiosk on Britton Avenue to kick of the community events this holiday season! More holiday events are to follow in RGC including our parade and more festivities.


Night of Lights – Edinburg
Thursday, December 1st & Friday, December 2nd
6PM – 11PM

Night of Lights kicks off with the lighting of the tree, live family entertainment, music, food booths, games and more. Also, don’t miss the beautiful lighted parade, full of brightly decorated floats, plus the ever-popular visit from Santa Clause! 

The parade takes place on a Friday, beginning on the corner of University Dr. & Sugar Rd. and ending at the Hidalgo County Courthouse Parking lot (Town Square). Local schools, businesses and organizations take part in the festive parade, where they cheerfully decorate floats, vehicles and marching units for children and families in the Edinburg area to enjoy.


Holiday Lighting Ceremony – Brownsville
Thursday, December 1st
6PM – 9PM

Join us as we light up the park and brighten up the season at the Washington Park Holiday Lighting Ceremony. Bring your friends, bring your family, and bring a lawn chair (we’ll be showing a movie in the park too).

Lights of Love Annual Tree Lighting
Thursday, December 1st
6PM – 7PM

In honor of the many victors and victims of cancer, Infinite Love and Texas Oncology of McAllen will host their fourth annual lighting ceremony for the “Beacon of Love” memorial monument, with holiday music and dedications followed by refreshments.


SPI Tree Lighting and Christmas Concert
Friday, December 2nd
6:30PM – 8:30PM

Head to the South Padre Island Convention Center for a tree lighting and concert on Friday night, December 2nd!


McAllen Holiday Parade
Saturday, December 3rd
6PM – 8PM

The 2016 McAllen Holiday Parade kicks off at McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium at 6:00 PM, Saturday, December 3rd. The illuminated floats, giant helium balloons, and live marching bands will process through the stadium, and south on Bicentennial Blvd towards Business 83. (Free admission along the parade route, paid ticketed stadium seating.)


The Lantern Parade – South Padre Island
Saturday, December 3rd
5PM

At The Lantern Fest, thousands of revelers join together armed with lanterns for one unforgettable spectacle. There will be music, dancing, s’mores and, when the time is just right, we will light the sky with our highest hopes, deepest regrets, and fondest dreams.

*Please note that outside food and beverages are allowed, but alcohol and glass bottles are prohibited.


Mid-Valley Lighted Christmas Parade – Weslaco
Saturday, December 10th
6:30PM – 9:00PM

The City of Weslaco will celebrate the Christmas season with our annual parade on Texas Boulevard! This year’s theme is “Christmas South of the Border”.  The parade route begins at Pike and ends at 6th Street.

Illuminated floats, antique cars, marching bands, dancers, and more! Get there early to see hundreds of Santas flood Texas Blvd at the RGV Santa Dash! Run Starts at 5:00PM.
