Products that Pamper

The countdown has officially begun!  We are anticipating the arrival of baby girl #2 in three weeks.  I must admit that I do enjoy being pregnant…that is, up until the last month.  That’s right, the last month is the toughest and being pregnant {for me} no longer becomes enjoyable.

At this point, I’m just too big {nothing fits well}, I’ve met INSOMNIA, and as my family is soundly sleeping I’m getting out of bed every 30 minutes to go to the bathroom.  Remember, I have an 18 month old daughter that I’m still running after as well.  Oh, and we can’t go without mentioning the 98+ degree weather we have these days…going outside is no fun for me.  July & Baby Girl 2- You can’t get here fast enough!!

Since the last month is so difficult for me, I’ve been searching for items that help relax me and make me feel pampered.  There are a few I’d like to share with you.

We traveled to San Antonio/Austin a few weeks ago and stopped by a store called LUSH where they make fresh, handmade cosmetics.  I didn’t have much time to shop because we were headed to dinner at one my favorite places, the Hula Hut, but the store was amazing.  LUSH carries everything from bath & body products to facial and hair products…and they are all handmade!  Some of my favorites are the Ocean Salt Cleanser, the Almond & Coconut Smoothie {great for shaving}, and the Enchanted Eye Cream {I keep it in the refrigerator and use it morning and night}.  Now, we don’t have a LUSH store here but the good news is you can order online and have the items shipped directly to your doorstep.  For some personal pampering, check out LUSH and try some of their products.  Then let me know what your favorite handmade product is.

As I’m sure you can imagine, my feet have needed some major pampering lately.  With all the extra weight I’m carrying around, my feet need to be cared for daily.  So, I ventured out to search for a fabulous foot cream and came across…wait for it…Gold Bond.  That’s right, I said it…Gold Bond!  I used to see commercials for Gold Bond and think, “What a joke”, but I was wrong!  The Gold Bond Ultimate Softening Foot Cream with Shea Butter is fantastic!  I use it morning and night and absolutely love it.  Of course, the massage part makes my feet feel relaxed but the lotion does wonders to make my feet feel soft and my pedicure still looks fresh.  Try it for yourself…I bet you’ll like it too.

Finally, while I was pregnant with Klarissa I discovered Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter and found that it worked wonders to keep my belly itch free and clear of stretch marks.  I started to use it during this second pregnancy and after the second tube, didn’t find the time to get to the mall to buy more.  I tried to make do with other creams but I started noticing stretch marks and a very itchy belly.  That is, until last week when I finally made time to get to the mall and bought a new tube.  Oh, the relief!  This butter is the best and I recommend it to anyone that is expecting.  It’s a pricey tube but this one is definitely worth your money.

There it is ladies…I’ve got three weeks to go and yes, I am counting down the days.  At least I’m finding ways to pamper myself until the BIG DAY!  Get out there and pamper yourself too and don’t forget to let us in on what your favorite products are.

  1. Girl, I feel ya! We are anticipating the arrival of baby (girl) #1 within the next 5-10 days! This last month has been a bit miserable for me, especially in this summer heat. :/ Everything you’re saying in the first two paragraphs, I’m like, “OMG, I’m going through that too!” lol It is very annoying how you cannot sleep the whole night through and literally every 30 minutes you have to go to the bathroom. It’s difficult for me to change sides throughout the night because as I’m trying to switch from the my left to my right side (and vice versa), those 2 seconds where all my belly weight is right on top of me nearly kills me! But I am just so anxious to meet my baby girl already, that I’m sure I’ll forget all about this once she’s here 🙂
I’ve been trying to look for a good foot cream, so I’m going to take your advice and try the Gold Bond.I just got a pedi and want to keep it looking fresh so I wont go into labor with nappy feet, haha. The stretch mark cream I have been using this whole time is Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula massage lotion for stretch marks. So far, I have not had any itching and haven’t gotten any stretch marks, yay!
Thanks for sharing your products that pamper. Lush sounds interesting and I’ll check out their stuff online. Thanks! And good luck!!
