My 4 year old ran to my office. His eyes lit up as he pulled the chair out and perched his elbows on my desk. I opened his personalized video message from Santa and his eyes opened wide when Santa said his name and he about fell off his chair when Santa showed him a picture of him in his great big book. And yeah, I cried a little bit when I saw the twinkle in his eyes.
I discovered this sweet little gem on the internet last year. It’s called the Portable North Pole and this FREE website allows you to create a personalized, life-like video message from Santa to your child! And did I mention, it’s FREE!?
They ask quite a few questions and I was leery at first. They ask his birthday, his name, they ask you to verify his pronunciation, and then they ask you to to upload a photo. But let me tell you, don’t get intimidated or annoyed with the process. IT. IS. TOTALLY WORTH. IT to see your child grinning from ear to ear!
The video is free for a few days and you have the option to purchase the high quality download for $6.99. I didn’t purchase it last year but I did record Cole watching it. Priceless if you ask me. This year though, I did purchase it. I’m not sure why except that I’m a digital hoarder and I did notice that the videos were different each year. But the free version is just as wonderful all on it’s own.
